Solar Eclipse in Aries
The Solar Eclipse in Aries arrives at 9 degrees Aries on Sat 29th March at 10:57am (GMT). Aries is ruled by Mars which is the planet of drive and ambition. Aries is a cardinal sign (a leader) and a fire sign – the dynamic, creative, transformative force – associated with the Suit of Wands in the tarot. 9 degrees is the Sagittarius degree which means that this eclipse is flavoured by Sagittarian themes – of luck, expansion and higher learning.
Eclipses are always revelatory and they demand that we pay attention to what’s happening around us. However, the frenetic energy of the eclipse dilutes our ability to see clearly so it’s imperative to find at least a few moments of stillness in the run up to a solar eclipse.
The opposite sign to Libra is Aries. Eclipses teach us that between two polarities we must find a midpoint. Libra’s themes are peace and harmony but intrinsic to Libra’s diplomacy is also a tendency for people pleasing and codependency. Aries asks us to fight for out own personal needs but in this quest for individuality we can become power hungry and selfish. The answer to self-actualization lies in the sweet spot between the two.
